Punjabi Kadhi Recipe

Time required for Punjabi Kadhi:

30 minutes approx.


  • 1 cup fresh yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • cumin 1 teaspoon
  • 1 pinch of heeng
  • 5 bay leaves
  • sliced onions 1 cup
  • 2 ramson sliced
  • turmeric powder 2 teaspoons
  • salt to taste

How to prepare Punjabi Kadhi?

Start by beating the gram flour with yogurt in a bowl and keep beating it until it become smooth. Heat the oil in a pan for tempering and add cumin.

When cumin starts cracking add bay leave, onion, heeng and garlic. Roast for 4-5 minutes. Add the mixture of yogurt and gram flour.

Also add turmeric, salt and 1 cup of water. Leave it for boiling at low heat until the karahi becomes bit thick.

Finally serve this delicious Punjabi Kadhi.
